FIELD: logging and rosin extracting industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has cylindrical branch pipe and conical stream forming nozzle connected to hydraulic branch pipe. Longitudinal blades are attached to inner surfaces of cylindrical branch pipe and stream forming nozzle. Water is supplied under pressure through sealing ring from fixed tube into branch pipe. Apparatus has casing equipped with pulley for belt drive and is positioned in axially aligned relation to branch pipe and nozzle for rotation around single longitudinal axis. Such construction of apparatus allows formation of free-fall hydraulic streams of predetermined pressure. Rotation with predetermined vortex extent may be imparted to such streams, which may be used for cleaning round logs from bark, ground and rot, preferably for removing rot from side surface of sapwood stumps, for removing bark from voids or tree branch forks, for debarking logs with other imperfections, as well as for treating tar-impregnated wood.
