METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF SAWN TIMBER FROM FULL-LENGTH LOGS AFFECTED BY PITH ROT Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: forest industry. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in sawing-off of a combined range of sizes, division of it into parts in the longitudinal direction, separation of combined sawn timber, separation of them into standard sawn timber and sawn timber affected by pith rot, separation of the latter into parts in affected layer, removal of the bark and rot in parallel with the generating lines of the sawn timber and rot, turning of the obtained blanks relative to one another by 180 deg. in the vertical plane and cementing together on the edge. Removal of the bark and rot may be accomplished at a similar inclination to the face, or at a different inclination to the face, or with formation of processing surfaces of the same shape and taper in length, or with formation of elements of carpenter's joint.
