FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of sec.-butyl acetate used as a solvent of varnish and dye and for production of sec.-butyl alcohol. Method involves alkylation of acetic acid with n-butenes using butane-butene fraction in liquid phase. The source of catalyst is an immobile layer of sulfocationite resin in H+-form. Obtained reactive mass is cooled to temperature that is lower that of at outlet of catalyst layer. Part of the cooled reactive product recirculates into catalyst layer being synthesis is performed in system of some reactors. In cascade of three reactors inlet temperature in the first reactor is maintained to be 90-110 C, in the second reactor is 70-100 C and in the third reactor is 70-75 C. In cascade of two reactors inlet temperature in the first reactor is maintained to be 90-110 C and in the second reactor is 70-75 C and recycles of part of cooled mixture is carried out into each reactor. The weight ratio of amount of recycle current to the raw amount is equal or more of X value that is calculated by equation: where X is weight ratio of recycle current to the raw amount; n means a number of reactor; A means the mole ratio of acetic acid to n-butenes in feeding fresh raw into the first reactor; B means the mole ratio of butane to n-butenes in feeding butane-butene fraction.
