FIELD: ionizing radiation sources. SUBSTANCE: radioactive element is applied to metal powder together with aluminum metal powder by evaporating radioactive element solution in mineral acid, radioactive element is fixed in the form of oxide film on metal powder by method of heat treatment, and compound obtained is poured into source housing. Then compound is subjected to heat treatment inside source housing at t = 600 C for 90 minutes to immobilize active part. EFFECT: improved uniformity of radionuclide distribution in compound; enhanced precision of setting nominal activity of source in wide range. 1 tbl
