FIELD: ionized radiation sources. SUBSTANCE: sorption of radionuclide is conducted in chemically bonded state throughout entire volume of granules of vinyl pyridine cation-exchange resin by evaporating 0.1-0.5 mole/l of nitric or hydrochloric acid solution of radionuclide. Upon evaporation of solution cation-exchange resin granules are treated with mixture of water vapors, carbon dioxide, and ammonia at temperature of 180-220 C for 2 h for their denitration and decarbonization. Then heat treatment is made at 400- 600 C for 4 h for decarbonizing carbon cross-link of cation-exchange resin and carbonates. Granules obtained are treated with 30-60% solution of mixed up phosphoric-acid salts, calcined at 400-600 C, placed in source capsule, and compressed to form pellets. EFFECT: enhanced specific content of radioactive component and reduced leachability of core obtained. 3 cl, 2 tbl
