FIELD: refrigeration engineering. SUBSTANCE: improved lubrication agents for cooling suitable for compression refrigeration installations are esters of (i) spatially hindered alcohol containing at least one primary alcohol group and carbon atom, to which the latter group is attached, having no vicinal methylene or methyl groups and (ii) at least one fatty C4-C18-acid having at least 70% acyl groups with linear chains, said lubrication agents being characterized by volume wear determined by four ball method less than 1 cu. mcm. These lubrication agents together with refrigerants, which are fluorocarbons, form composition for use in above-named refrigeration installation. Lubrication agents show optimal balance of properties, in particular combination of good compatibility, hydrolytic stability, wear resistance, and satisfactory viscosity. EFFECT: improved refrigeration composition quality. 11 cl, 1 tbl, 6 ex
