FIELD: environmental protection. SUBSTANCE: slick bar is used for confining outflow of oil and other inflammable pollutants on water surface. Slick bar is built of separate sections joined together and provided with floating member accommodating one or more water-absorbing layers. Slick bar is provided with external casing made in the form of compact spiral or wicker net of water-repellent wire brush. Floating member has separate sealed hard floats. Water-absorbing inner and water-repellent outer collars are inserted in junctions. Water-repellent fireproof wire brush is made of fire-resistant material such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, or other fiber whose melting point is maximum 1100 C. External casing is cylinder-shaped structure; compact spiral or wicker net of external casing is spaced apart through distance not greater than diameter of wire brush.
