FIELD: oil pollution removal. SUBSTANCE: sorbing floating barrier consists of in series connected cylindrical sections, whose elastic gauze shells are filled with oil-sorbing material, and floats disposed in section-contact regions. Each section is provided with longitudinal cable with tails and corrugated tubular flexible member surrounding cable. Cable ends are fixed in tails, which are fastened in tubular flexible member on the cable fixation side and, on the opposite side, have facilities for fixation of the edge of tubular flexible member and threading for screwed connection of sections. Oil-sorbing material, in particular oleophilic fibrous sorbent, has layered structure. Sorbent layer adjacent to tubular flexible member is fixed from displacement along the latter by zigzag thread strapping this layer. Aforementioned floats are made in the form of flexible gauze bandage, which is filled with layer of sorbent having constant floatage and attached to one of the interconnected sections. EFFECT: increased degree of operational availability of floating barrier and oil film retention efficiency and also improved mechanical strength of structure and its floatage. 3 cl, 3 dwg
