FIELD: environment protection means, particularly cleaning or keeping the surface of open water clear of oil contaminations.
SUBSTANCE: harbor boom comprises floats made as netted shell filled with oil sorbent and connected with each other by flexible tie members. The floats are rectangular with 1:(3-10) height/with ratio. The floats are provided with vertical screens made of material, which is the same as that used for netted shell production, and are oriented in opposite directions with respect to front and rear walls of each float. In accordance to the second embodiment floats are rectangular with 1:(3-10) height/with ratio and provided with bolsters filled with sorbent and formed by stitch line creation in the shell. The bolsters are located in opposite float corners and connected with vertical screens made of material, which is the same as that used for netted shell production. The screens are oriented in opposite directions with respect to front and rear walls of each float. The sorbent is modified flash-dried fiber, namely pulp-and-paper waste. The netted shell is made of plain-woven fabric. Ends of each float are provided with tie members made of durable band, namely of tape. Two tie members are secured to central part of float cross-section and two other ones are connected to opposite corners thereof.
