FIELD: methods and apparatuses for forming rod coils and placing them by overlap fashion onto belt conveyor of rolling mill for cooling. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of guiding hot rolled steel rod along line for discharging rolled products towards turn-maker for forming continuous row of rod loops; placing loops by overlap fashion onto conveyor for further transportation along extension of line for discharging products to station for next working operation; additionally mounting turn-maker onto supporting construction arranged under it in such a way that it is possible to shift in horizontal plane direction of rod loops on conveyor; securing turn-maker to supporting construction by means of opening clamps in any selected direction of adjustment. Apparatus provides possibility for centering rod loops placed on conveyor and uniform cooling of them. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of method, improved design of apparatus providing optimal metallurgical quality of rods. 9 cl, 5 dwg
