FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, namely to rolling mills and can be used for forming and laying coils of rods or wire on conveyor. Proposed method comprises controlling the speed of bent rotated tube, feeding transferred billet through said tube that forms spiral coils. Tube comprises bent intermediate section with rotational radius, measured from laying tube rotational axis, gradually increasing, and bent feed section with permanent maximum radius R of its rotation at the points of its joint with feed section. Radius R is measured from tube center, while tube wall has maximum and minimum radii of rotation Rmax and Rmin at this point. Proposed method comprises measuring radii of rotation Rmax and Rmin, continuous measuring billet speed Vp and controlling laying tube rotation speed to make laying tube circumferential speeds Vmax, Vmin at respective rotational radii Rmax and Rmin defining the range that includes billet speed Vp.
EFFECT: uniform cooling ensured by optimum relationship between billet and speed and laying coiler speed.
