FIELD: rolled stock production, namely improved process for decelerating cooling of hot rolled products in heat insulation containers called "pot". SUBSTANCE: apparatus for receiving continuously fed turns of hot rolled product includes: a) movable container having vertical cylindrical lateral wall open at upper and lower ends; base on lower end of wall for removably mounting container in zone for forming coil; horizontal shelf extending inside from inner surface of wall and central core resting upon shelf in such a way that it is spaced from inner surface of wall and forms annular chamber; through grooves communicated with chamber and provided in flange; b) elevator platform placed in zone of forming coil and having carrying members arranged in such a way that to provide passing along through grooves of shelf; c) mechanism for controlling vertical position of elevator platform by moving carrying members in through grooves of shelf between slightly raised working positions between which carrying members inside chamber carry coil formed by receiving turns from open upper end of container and idle position under shelf after achieving which coil is arranged on shelf.
