FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: timing mechanism has toroidal chambers installed over suction and exhaust holes. Inner spaces of toroidal chambers are connected by two holes with cylinder space, suction pipe or exhaust manifold. Ring pistons are placed inside chambers and are provided with space to let gases pass. Pistons are mounted on common shaft and connect cylinder space with suction pipe or exhaust manifold through holes at rotation of shaft. EFFECT: simplified design of timing mechanism. 1 dwg
