FIELD: mechanical engineering; piston engines. SUBSTANCE: timing gear of four-stroke internal combustion engine has housing of cylinder head 1, spring-loaded valve 2 with diameter of poppet equal to 0.6-0.85 of cylinder diameter, and three cylindrical bushings 3, 4 and 5 installed coaxially with valve 2 and arranged inside housing of cylinder head 1 for travelling vertically along axis of rod of valve 2. Bushing 3 overlaps suction space 6, bushing 4 overlaps exhaust space 7, control bushing 5 is installed between bushings 3 and 4 and it has two rods of pusher 7 loaded by springs 9. Control bushing 5 has outer ring beads 10 to engage with inner bead 11 of bushing 3 and inner bead 12 of bushing 5. Bushings 3 and 4 are pressed to upper and lower seats by means of spring 13 installed between bushings 3 and 4 around control bushing 5. Two ring grooves are provided in housing of cylinder head 1 for sealing bushings and 4 and preventing oil from getting into suction space 6 and exhaust space 7. Sealing rings 14 are fitted in ring grooves. EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of internal combustion engine owing to use of bushing-type timing gear. 4 dwg
