FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying computer-aided perimetry of both eyes. Then total threshold sensitivity of the right and left retina halves are determined separately. The total threshold sensitivity parameters dropping below 2100 dB, 25 mg of nitroglycerin is sublingually administered to the patient. Repeated perimetry of one of the eyes is carried out 1.5-2 min later. The second eye is examined after the second sublingual dose of 0.25 mg being administered. Initial drop of total threshold sensitivity to 1700-2090 dB with its increase to 2200 ± 100 dB taking place in applying nitroglycerin test, cerebrovascular reserve is considered to be retained. Initial drop of total threshold sensitivity to 1400- 1690 dB with its increase less than by 200-400 dB taking place in applying nitroglycerin test, cerebrovascular reserve is considered to fail. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of noninvasive method. 11 dwg, 4 tbl
