METHOD FOR MAKING MASTOPEXY Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves marking in advance new position of superior areola boundary as finger projection on the frontal breast surface when placing it in the submammary fold on the mammary gland axis line denominated as point A. Area of nipple-areola complex having diameter of 4.5-5 cm is marked around the nipple. Point B is set 5-6 cm upward from the submammary fold along the mammary gland axis. Horizontal line is drawn on which points C and D are marked laterally and medially apart from the nipple. An oval is drawn through the marked points A-D determining external boundary of de-epidermization zone. Point N is set in the middle between the points of A and C. Point M is set between the points of A and D. Skin and fat desectioning is carried out in the superior quadrants of the mammary gland reaching the level of the second intercostal space. Fixing sutures passing through the upper boundary of deepidermization zone, superior boundary of the gland tissue and breast muscle fascia are sequentially put in. The point A is fixed in point A1 at the point of intersection of the mammary gland axis and the second intercostal space. The points M and N are fixed in points M1 and N1 5-6 cm apart from the mammary gland axis at the level of the third intercostal space. The points C and D are fixed in points C1 and D1 at the points of intersection of the horizontal line and anteroaxillary and peripectoral lines. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in eliminating ptosis retaining the volume of the mammary gland. 3 dwg
