FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology, polymers. SUBSTANCE: method of synthesis of low pressure polyethylene having bimodal molecular-mass distribution involves suspension or gas-phase copolymerization of ethylene with α-olefins in binary catalytical system containing chrome oxide catalyst on inorganic oxide carrier and chromocene catalyst on inorganic carrier. Low pressure polyethylene has the high stability to cracking and density 0.950 g/cm3, not less. Composition of catalytical system has chrome oxide catalyst as a catalyst containing chrome trioxide, aluminium oxide, zinc oxide and silicon dioxide as a carrier in the following ratio of components, wt. -%: chrome trioxide, 0.4-4.0; aluminium oxide, 1.4-9.0; zinc oxide 0.7-3.5; silicon dioxide, the balance.
