SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing polymerisation catalysts containing chromium oxide supported on a silicon dioxide support, i.e. invention relates to chromium oxide catalysts (COC) modified during preparation with a titanium compound. Described is a method of producing a chromium oxide catalyst for (co)polymerisation processes, modified with a titanium compound, including application on solid inorganic support source of chromium (III) and source of titanium (IV) from their combined benzene solution to obtain a titanium-chromium-containing product and activation of the obtained titanium-chromium-containing product at a temperature of not lower than 700 °C, where said combined benzene solution is obtained at temperature of 70 to 75 °C. Catalyst obtained according to the above method contains 0.4–0.5 wt.% of Cr and 3.7–4.0 wt.% of Ti. Also described is a method of producing an ethylene (co)polymer, comprising continuous gas-phase polymerisation of ethylene with an α-olefin on said catalyst, and ethylene (co)polymer obtained by this method, characterized by MFR5 from 1.5 to 3.5 g/10 min and density at 20 °C from 0.949 to 0.963 g/cm3.
EFFECT: increased polymerisation activity of the titanated supported chromium oxide catalyst, expressed in values from 10.9 to 11.9 kilogram (kg) of (co)polymer per gram (g) of catalyst, as well as effective operation of the catalyst when controlling the melt flow index, synthesized by HDPE during gas-phase (co)polymerisation of ethylene.
