FIELD: manufacture of brake covers or other products, brake plates, clutch disks which may develop high temperatures during service. SUBSTANCE: composition comprises, wt parts: aqueous emulsion or aqueous alcoholic phenol-formaldehyde resin, 25-35; asbestos fabric, 40-60; mineral powder, 5-10; lubricant, 1-3; and modifying additive which is product of reaction of boric anhydride and 4,4'-dioxydiphenyl propane at weight ratio from 30: 70 to 10: 40, prepared in cellosolve, 5-20. Composition-based friction molding material has higher strength characteristics at 300 C thus making it possible to increase service life, reliability and safety of most important unit in transport and crane engines.
