FIELD: destruction of toxic and highly toxic chemical agents. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in thermal decomposition of agents. Proposed method consists in thermal decomposition of agent in combustion zone at temperature of 2200 to 3200 K in oxidizing medium at intensive mixing of core of flow of combustion products at boundary layers followed by two-stage hardening: at first stage is performed at temperature reduced from 2200-3200 K to 1300-1500 K at moment of introducing calcium into flow of solution; at second stage, temperature is reduced from 1300- 1500 K to 400-500 K at rate of cooling of (1-6)•106 deg/s. Device proposed for realization of this method has reactor with combustion chamber; at one end of combustion chamber injector bottom is located and outlet critical-flow nozzle is located at other end/ Bottom has injectors for delivery of agent to be destroyed which are located in center, injectors for delivery of fuel are located over periphery and injectors for delivery of oxidizer are smoothly distributed over entire area of bottom. Injectors for delivery of calcium and cooling agent solution are located on side surface of combustion chamber which is divided into thermal decomposition zone made in form of truncated cone with base at injector bottom, after- burning zone located between thermal decomposition zone and first belt of injectors used for delivery of calcium compound solution, first hardening zone located between first and second belts of side injectors, second hardening zone located between second belt and side injectors and outlet critical-flow nozzle.
