FIELD: physics, nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear technology and can be used during manufacture of the ionising radiation sources based on radioactive elements. Method of manufacturing the active part of the radioactive source involves selecting an aliquot solution of radionuclide, impregnation of the porous matrix with this solution, drying and thermal processing. Paper ash-free filter is used as the porous matrix. The matrix impregnated with radionuclide is dried, placed in an additional paper ash-free filter and thermal processing of the matrix is carried out. The matrix impregnated with radionuclide is dried at a temperature of not more than 90°C.
EFFECT: cutting on time spent in preparing the active part, reduced losses of preparation, as well as minimised size of the active part practically to the size of a dot.
