FIELD: capacitor-type secondary power supplies. SUBSTANCE: secondary power supply has rectifier bridge whose ac input is connected in series with limiting capacitor that functions to reduce voltage. Connected to power supply output is pulsed dc voltage converter powered through thyristor. Transistor is cut off until voltage across filter capacitor rises to desired level depending on regulating voltage of voltage regulator diode; in this case thyristor gate electrode does not pass current. Turning on voltage regulator diode drives transistor in conduction and then thyristor so that voltage is applied to power inputs of converter. In this way current consumed by thyristor control circuit in steady state mode of operation is minimized. EFFECT: reduced power dissipated by circuit components, enhanced efficiency, enlarged functional capabilities. 1 dwg
