FIELD: power supplies with primary DC voltage line. SUBSTANCE: device has DC voltage pulse converter with filter capacitor at its input in the form of superhigh-intensity pulsed capacitor. During initial moment capacitor is charged through limiting resistor and starting current pulse amplitude is brought to desired level. Then, as starting current reduces, thyristor is turned on to short out the resistor. Thyristor is turned on by discharging the capacitor through its gate electrode upon driving control transistor in conduction. Threshold turn-on level of thyristor is found by selecting stabilization voltage of voltage regulator diode that determines moment of driving auxiliary transistor in conduction to build up base current of transistor. Initial period of capacitor charging lasts until desired level of filter capacitor is attained. EFFECT: reduced power dissipated by circuit components and, hence, enhanced efficiency. 1 dwg
