FIELD: acoustic logging with use of longitudinal, lateral and Stounley's waves. SUBSTANCE: down-hole logging instrument is moved, elastic vibrations are cyclically excited and received at sounding distances. Spatial-time diagram of wave field is recorded with preset quantization interval. Signals recorded at sounding distances during each measurement cycle are intercorrelated with subsequent shift of acoustic signal first in arrival by time interval equal to sampling interval. Acoustic parameters of rocks are determined by positions of extreme values of local pulses on time axis of obtained corrolelogram. EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of determination of acoustic parameters of rocks with minimal body of information thanks to raised signal-to-noise ratio and solvability of recording in interference zone of waves of various types. 3 dwg
