FIELD: medicine, narcology, phytotherapy, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to development of medicinal species used for prophylaxis and treatment of patients with pathological attraction to alcohol. Species consists of the following medicinal plants: common wormwood herb, common milfoil herb, thyme herb, dioecious nettle leaves, tansy inflorescences, swampy sweet flag roots taken in the following ratio of components: common wormwood herb, 2; common milfoil herb, 2; thyme herb, 1; dioecious nettle leaves, 1; tansy inflorescences, 1; swampy sweet flag, 3. Treatment with the proposed species results to positive effect by arresting the pathological attraction to alcohol and depressive dystrophic symptomatology in 60 patients suffering with chronic alcoholism.
