FIELD: transport engineering; front independent suspensions of front wheel drive cars with hydraulic telescopic shock absorbing struts. SUBSTANCE: strut has body with parts of hydraulic telescopic shock absorber with adjusting rod inside working rod, piston with bypass valve secured on adjusting rod and rigidity control system arranged between upper end face of piston and lower end face of working rod with plate and spiral springs. Rigidly control system has end face cam secured in lower part of working rod with spiral spring. Axial hole of cam engages with adjusting rod on which lower end face cam is fitted. Lower end face cam is arranged above plate spring being installed for axial displacement without rotation. Cams are installed for engagement with working surfaces. Value h of travel of lower end face cam is found from formula. EFFECT: increased safe speed at negotiating a turn owing to active control of suspension rigidity. 2 cl, 7 dwg
