FIELD: wind-power engineering; wind-electric generating plants. SUBSTANCE: method for power takeoff from wind stream flowing over windwheel of wind-electric generating unit involves additional generation of swirl compressed over its perimeter in region adjacent to windwheel; according to invention swirl is generated by continuous helical wind jets over windwheel perimeter from windward to leeward zone of air stream flowing over windwheel. Proposed method is implemented by means of appropriate wind-electric generating unit. EFFECT: enhanced windwheel capacity, reliability, and strength. 10 cl, 6 dwg
