FIELD: electrical engineering; manufacture of components of electrode active masses for alkaline storage batteries. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in using new raw material-powder of lamellae obtained due to crushing and grinding lamellar Ni-electrodes of waste alkaline batteries. Mixture of ground positive lamellar nickel electrodes at size of particles not exceeding 2.5 mm is subjected to leaching in acid medium to content of ions Ni2+ in solution 60 - 100 g/l followed by cleaning solution from iron, magnesium and calcium admixtures and hydrometallurgical processing into ferrous hydroxide.
