FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric engineering and may be used for nickel recovery from the spent alkaline pocket-plate cells. According to the invention nickel is recovered from the spent alkaline pocket-plate cells by dispersing oxide-nickel electrodes and separating nickel-containing mass from lamella fragments. But before oxide-nickel electrodes are dispersed and nickel-containing mass is separated from lamella fragments, the electrodes are initially pre-treated at 270°C during 7 hours, and then at 350°C during 2 hours.
EFFECT: increased rate of nickel recovery from lamella electrode in the spent alkaline battery.
