FIELD: light industry. SUBSTANCE: skins are subjected to pickling with a water solution including sodium chloride and formic acid. Then skins are put through greasing, dressing and dyeing. The latter is conducted before pickling with acidic dyes. Pickling process is carried out in two stages with intermediate lying period. During the first stage "Gamma 2" preparation is added at 2.0-3.0 g/l, then in 1.0-1.5 h formic acid is supplemented. The first- stage treatment lasts for 20- 24 h, the second-stage one - for 10-12 h. The method enables to shorten the period of skin treatment by 3 d, exclude tanning process by chromic salts. EFFECT: improved ecological parameters of semifinished product, increased skin rating by 4%, increased skin area output by 6%, on an average. 1 cl, 2 tbl
