FIELD: leather production, in particular, production of leathers from fishskin of fishes of wet and dry salt preservation, and also from fishes of dry curing and fish products of cold smoking; applicable in manufacture of ready-made garments, haberdashery and other articles. SUBSTANCE: method includes soaking, green fleshing, degreasing and tanning. After soaking, fishskin is treated with chemical ferment preparation or ferment preparation of animal origin with subsequent removal of scale or scale with scale pockets at the stage of green fleshing. Soaking and degreasing are carried out simultaneously with washing means containing sodium bicarbonate and common salt at temperature of 30-40 C and volume ratio of 3-7 for 2-4 h or 8-48 h depending on fish species. Chemical ferment preparation is used in form of protosubtilin with consumption of 0.5-4.0 of hide weight. Ferment preparation of animal origin is used in form of pancreas with consumption of 0.5-3.0% of hide weight. In this case, fishskin is treated with protosubtilin or pancreas at temperature of 35-40 C for 0.5-4.0 h and volume ratio of 1-4. After removal of flesh, fishskin is subjected to pickling with acid-salt solution at temperature of 30-40 C and volume ratio of 3-7 for 2-12 h. Tanning is carried out with chrome tanning agent of sodium hyposulfate and common salt at temperature of 38-40 C and volume ratio of 3-7 for 8-24 h. Tanning may be made without pickling in solution of chrome tanning agent preliminarily acidified with acid solution in the amount of 0.5-2 g/l. After tanning, fishskin may be subjected to washing, dubbling and finishing or neutralization, dyeing, dubbling and finishing.
