FIELD: control systems of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in entering non-linear elements in buffer negative proportional-plus-integral feedback of indirect speed governor. Buffer feedback employs bush with bypass passages which are opened when dash-pot moves- off center position and flexible members of equal or different rigidity, with or without preload. Device proposed for realization of this method includes centrifugal speedometer, hydraulic spool valve with compensating land, hydraulic servomotor, hydraulic line between spool valve and servomotor divided into spool valve cavity and servomotor cavity by dashpot plunger, bypass needle valve connected with these cavities and self-contained oil system. Buffer space where plunger moves in made in form of changeable bush fitted in bore of governor body. EFFECT: enhanced transient processes of engine speed control systems. 6 cl, 4 dwg
