FIELD: separations of suspensions under action of centrifugal force. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in delivery of suspension to collector chamber of centrifugal separator and separation of it into fractions in separation chamber in passing through many adjacent parallel passages. Suspension is subjected to acceleration; as a result, solid particles settle on walls of passages. Then, they are directed to sediment receiver through collector chamber and separated liquid is discharged from rotor. In the course of separation, particles move in laminar mode which ensures acceleration not exceeding 100 g. Centrifugal separator proposed for realization of this method includes rotor mounted on shaft and fitted with settling surface whose members whose are made in form of thin-walled adjacent tubes forming circular stack located over periphery of cylindrical separation chamber. According to another version, each member of settling surface has many adjacent passages made in wall of separating chamber and located in parallel with rotor axis of rotation. EFFECT: possibility of separating particles whose density is close to density of liquid phase; reduced power requirements; ease in maintenance. 21 cl, 12 dwg
