FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to rotary separator for separation of solid particles from fluids mix. Proposed separator comprises rotor with separation chamber with outlet of separated fluid, slime outlet for separation of solid particles, screw conveyor to run inside said rotor at rpm that differs from that of said rotor to force separated solid particles from separation chamber towards slime outlet and rotor and screw conveyor drive. Separator comprises control unit to control drive to run rotor at first rpm in separation phase and at second rpm in particle discharge phase. In compliance with the method of separation, said rotor is drive to feed the mix inside separation chamber confined by rotor body. Thereafter, mix is rotated inside said chamber to separate fluid therefrom and discharge it via first outlet. Screw conveyor runs inside the rotor about rotational axis to carry separated particles from separation chamber towards slime outlet and therefrom. Note here that rotor is run at first rpm in separation phase and at second rpm, lower than said first one, in particle discharge phase.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of separation.
