FIELD: ammunition, applicable in production of seamless cartridge cases for small arms. SUBSTANCE: the cartridge case containing a bottom and a body, whose inner surface conjugates to the bottom in radius, is made in the form of tapered sections at a height equal to 21.2 to 23.4 of the radius of conjugation of the bottom with the inner surface of the body. Besides, the odd sections from the bottom have a lesser taper with respect to the even sections, the height of the subsequent section makes up 0.85 to 0.75 of the previous one, the tapers of the odd sections are equal to one another, and those of the even sections - to one another, and those of the even sections - to one another. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of extraction and obturation, especially at high (above 3000 kgf/sq.cm) pressures of powder gases, of steel seamless cartridge cases of small arms, caliber 5.56 to 14.5 mm, for prevention of disturbance of the strength of the cartridge case body. 3 cl, 2 dwg
