FIELD: medicine, pediatrics, neonatology. SUBSTANCE: method involves analysis of level of the following cytokines: interleukin-8 and factor of tumor necrosis. The development of septic infection is diagnosed at concentrations of interlekin-8 and factor of tumor necrosis above 5 and 2 pg/ml, respectively. Method provides to clinical diagnose with the most degree of probability and in maximally early times. Invention can be used for early laboratory diagnosis of septic infection in newborns. EFFECT: improved method of diagnosis, enhanced high-sensitivity method of early diagnosis of septic infection in newborns.
