FIELD: radio engineering; antenna arrays for communication systems, radars, and radio control. SUBSTANCE: method involves synchronous conversion of dc voltage into electromagnetic pulse field across each input of horn radiator, spatial field modulation in amplitude and phase including number of each antenna of array and its spatial position so that desired total phase-amplitude distribution and minimal error in wave impedance are attained. Broad-band antenna array has n horn radiators arranged at several elevations; each horn radiator is formed by gradual transition of strip line into horn radiator of array in planes E and H; all horn radiators are electrically interconnected to form integrated spatial aperture of array; each horn radiator has pulse signal shaper that functions to convert dc voltage into pulse; shaper output is loaded into strip line of horn radiator. Array uses pulses lower than 2 ns in length and provides for better matching (reduced voltage standing- wave ratio at pulse excitation. EFFECT: reduced field loss. 2 cl, 11 dwg
