SHELL-AND-TUBE CATALYTIC REACTOR Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2180266 C1

FIELD: anisothermic chemical reactors with loose catalyst bed; chemical and petrochemical industries. SUBSTANCE: shell-and-tube reactor has housing with upper and lower covers and branch pipes for inlet and outlet of stock and heat-transfer agent, tube plates with tube bundle with catalyst located inside them; it also includes additional catalyst beds located in two zones; one zone is located in upper cover where catalyst is located for additional conversion of stock into reaction products; other zone is located in lower cover where waste catalyst with smoothly distributed tubes is located for equalizing concentration of stock and temperature at tube bundle inlet. EFFECT: reduced consumption of fresh catalyst; avoidance of thermal destruction of catalyst; increased service life due to reduction of peak temperatures at stock inlet and increased degree of conversion due to increased time of presence of stock in catalyst bed. 1 dwg
