FIELD: various branches of industry where control over composition and properties of liquids is vital. SUBSTANCE: method determining viscosity of liquid media consists in action of gas jet on surface deformed by interaction. Liquid is placed in maximum of E-field of resonance oscillation of type E010 of cylindrical cavity resonator and gas jet is fed by short pneumatic pulses. Viscosity is evaluated by duration ttp of transit process of free oscillations of surface of liquid and time tss between two stationary states of surface of liquid. Gear for implementation of process has cylindrical cavity resonator, SHF oscillator, jet pipe, intake loop, amplitude detector and float.
