SUBSTANCE: microwave- controlled attenuator has shorted below-cutoff cylindrical waveguide whose inner space accommodates insulator space, driving loop with built- in p-i-n diode, and pickup loop; in addition, it has horizontal space of microwave ferrite magnetized by solenoid current and wound on side wall of waveguide; axial space of polar liquid, bellows whose blind end wall forms upper end wall of waveguide; driving and pickup loops are located in magnetic-field H₀₁₁ wave antinode of cylindrical cavity into which waveguide is transformed in driving H₀₁₁ wave.
