AUTOMOBILE REAR-VIEW MIRROR Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: automotive industry; regulated rear view mirrors. SUBSTANCE: proposed rear-view mirror has mirror case and sectional bracket consisting of fixed part mounted on automobile and movable part. Movable part is made in form of through cylinder with spherical joints mounted at edges. Ball head of first joint is secured on fixed part of sectional bracket, and ball head of second joint is coupled with mirror case through additional hinge joint. Sockets of ball heads are relatively spring-loaded inside cylinder, and they thrust against rolled on end faces. Each socket of spherical joint ball head is formed by inner disk engaging with spring, cylinder and outer split plate with one or two cuts adjoining rolled on end face of cylinder. Outer diameter of inner disk is smaller than inner diameter of rolled on end face. Shape of surfaces of inner disk and outer plate of each socket pointed to each other is corresponds, as a rule, to shape of ball head of spherical joint. Surfaces of inner disks pointed to each other can be provided with alignment projections with fitted-on spring. Each inner disk is provided with axial hole.
