FIELD: oil refining. SUBSTANCE: method includes preliminary heating of initial material, its mixing with hydrocarbon turbulizer in ratio of 1:(3-20) at inlet of tube furnace. Hydrocarbon turbulizer is used depending on viscosity of initial material in form of the second gas oil fraction boiling away within interval of 320-500 C, or its mixture with the first gas oil fraction boiling away within internal from 180 to 320 C which are supplied from atmospheric rectification tower. Further on, light thermal cracking of obtained mixture 1 is effected in tube furnace in presence of steam and at temperature of 475-490 C at furnace outlet. Steam is supplied to each coil pipe of tube furnace by distribution to points located successively along motion of mix mixture from entrance into tube furnace to zone with temperature of 460-470 C. In this case, total amount of steam supplied to tube furnace coil pipes satisfies relations S=C1+C2(V-30); 0.2 ≤ S ≤ 1.0, where S is amount of steam relative to weight of initial material, wt.%; C1 and C2 are coefficients, in this case C1=0.3 wt.%, and C2=(0.4-1.2)10-2 wt.% s-1; V is relative viscosity at 80 C of initial material, s.
