FIELD: testing equipment. SUBSTANCE: installation comprises source of thermal radiation, unit recording and controlling thermal condition, sample holder with heat insulation or heating element compensating for heat losses in unheated side of sample. Internal surface of source of thermal radiation comes in the form of two cylinders of larger and smaller diameters aligned uniaxially. Heat insulation of external surface of source of thermal radiation is made of heat insulation material with decomposition temperature above 900 C. Heated surface of sample is fixed perpendicular to common axis of cylinders. Hole for removal of gaseous products of thermal decomposition and visual observation of experiment is aligned with free hole in cylinder of smaller diameter. EFFECT: possibility of observation of entire surface of sample in process of experiment, provision of uniform thermal field in zone of expansion of fireproof coat to secure better reproducibility of results of test independent of dynamics of change of thickness of fireproof layer in the course of experiment. 1 cl, 4 dwg, 2 tbl
