FIELD: electrical engineering; dc motors that can also function as generators. SUBSTANCE: reluctance machine has at least six U-shaped magnetic yokes 11 on stator end. Yokes are arranged in circular manner and carry windings 112. Yokes 11 may be mounted on inner and/or outer side of rotor 12. Mentioned yokes magnetically isolated from each other are interacting with salient poles 121 of rotor 12. Two phases X and Y of this machine are supplied with current through at least one high-power semiconductor 21X, 21Y. Machine incorporates diodes 22 used to transmit phase X or Y demagnetizing energy to other phase (Y or X). Novelty is that machine has first stator assembly with U- shaped yokes 11X and 11Y in its first part and second stator assembly with U-shaped yokes 11X' and 11Y' in its second part. Yokes 11X and 11Y relate to first phases X and Y of machine and yokes 11X' and 11Y', to second phases X' and Y'. In this case yokes 11X, 11Y are offset relative to yokes 11X', 11Y' towards perimeter.
