FIELD: organic synthesis, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: product: acetic acid, empirical formula is C2H4O2. Reagent 1: synthesis-gas. Reagent 2: hydrogen. Reaction conditions: 63.6-98% parental synthesis-gas at 210-260 C, under pressure 60-70 atm, on copper-containing catalyst up to carbon oxide conversion degree for a single run through the catalyst is 0.43-1.33 vol. %. Remained part of synthesis-gas is combined with blowing gas at the stage of methanol synthesis and fed to the stage of methanol carbonylation. The latter stage is carried out or in gaseous phase in the presence of boronphosphate or nickel on activated carbon at 20-55 atm and 200-285 C either in the presence of rhodium-containing catalyst at each phase at 28-50 atm and 175-260 C.
