FIELD: tests of polymer materials, prediction of properties of cables. SUBSTANCE: procedure of preparation of samples of optically clear polymer materials for tests for resistance to aqueous splits includes formation of sample and injection of electrolyte into it. Sample is formed from lateral shear of electric insulation of cable with thickness of 2.0-4.0 mm. Then it is heated to temperature of softening of polymer material. Electrolyte is injected into heated sample through needle of injector or micropipette. The latter is driven in at rate of 10.0 μm/s or under. When sample cools to room temperature it is withdrawn and space filled with electrolyte is formed in sample. EFFECT: raised authenticity of results of test as it is conducted with use of fragments of real cable. 3 dwg
