METHOD OF CLEANING RESERVOIRS FROM DIRT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: cleaning objects used in oil industry and allied industries; removal of thick oil dirt from reservoirs, containers and other receptacles used for storage and processing of oil and petroleum products. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes preliminary sampling of contamination by drawing samples from inner surface of reservoir before cleaning it; samples are drawn from points obtained due to intersection of at least two sections of reservoir in vertical plane by horizontal planes passing over bottom of reservoir and its horizontal axis and at least two horizontal planes between bottom and horizontal axis of reservoir located at distance from bottom and from each other of to ≥0,25 of reservoir diameter and at least one horizontal plane passing above horizontal axis at distance of ≤0.25 of reservoir diameter. For drawing samples, use is made of scraper and stencil with hole in its center at diameter no less than 50 cm. Samples are analyzed separately and required amount and composition of cleansing solution required for each sample are determined on basic of data obtained; then, each cleansing solution is directed separately for required section of surface by means of jet units or averaged volume and composition of cleansing solution are determined reducing or increasing time of delivery depending on degree of contamination of surface.
