FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy; applicable in extraction of indium from zinc sulfate solutions. SUBSTANCE: method is realized by the following stages: reduction of ferric oxide in solution, indium extraction, sulfide purification, cementation of indium sponge. Method is realized in return of solution obtained after cementation stage to process head by its preliminary purification from chlorine with pulp of copper cake of zinc production, of final pulp acidity of 50-80 g/l and with copper content in solution of 2-5 g/l. EFFECT: increased extraction of indium into indium sponge and excluded chlorides and sulfates getting into plant sewage. 1 tbl
