FIELD: metallurgy of nonferrous metals. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of indium from sulfate zinc solutions where copper content is up to 10 g/l. Method involves successive carrying out stages of reduction of trivalent iron in solutions, extraction of indium into organic phase and its reextraction. Method is performed by reduction of iron with iron powder at 40-55 C and in the presence of sulfuric acid (concentration is 26-35 g/l). EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of iron reduction in solutions, increased indium extraction. 1 tbl
