FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for transmitting torque from one shaft to the other in one direction at high conveyed power. Proposed overrunning jaw clutch has friction-coupled driving and driven clutch members, springs, pawls and ratchet wheel engaging with spring and pawls. Ratchet wheel has conical friction surface in contact with similar surface of driven clutch member and it has inertia moment more than 10 times less than inertia moment of driving clutch member. Spring in proposed clutch are made in form of resilient plates on nut screwed onto clutch member, and pawls are installed in two rows in slots of driving clutch member.
